Santana began his rise in the hip-hop genre at 15, forming his own group known as Draft Pick which helped secure his first recording contract with Priority Records. Ten years later, he’s a certified Gold performer (over 500,000 units sold worldwide), enjoying the success of his most recent release What the Game’s Been Missing (featuring the hit There It Go – The Whistle Song) and is promoting his upcoming album Born To Lose, Built To Win (The Reagan Era) slated for release this summer. Santana will team up with Lil’ Wayne in the upcoming studio album I Can’t Feel My Face.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Taj Mahal began rapping at age 14, but didn’t look at it as a career until recently. From the Midwest, Taj Mahal moved east and performed in Brooklyn to Rochester and Syracuse and has collaborated with big name acts such as 50 Cent and Kanye West.
Flavoring the event locally, Capion rounds out the triple bill. Under contract to 4th Quarter Records, a local recording company owned by Jerome Emanuel, Capion (Curtis Poole) hails from Elmira and realized his calling at the age of eight with the help of his brother, Rory. At age 14, Capion began performing in local talent shows and performed his first concert at Buffalo State University.
