FIRST ARENA ~ ELMIRA JACKALS

Located in Downtown Elmira, the First Arena  has set the trend in multi-purpose facilities for Elmira and its surrounding communities.  The facility features two ice surfaces (Both are NHL regulation size), a full service restaurant and bar, a food service center for the recreational rink, video game arcade, 31 luxury suites, party/group outing facilities, and meeting/community rooms among other amenities.  The First Arena is the new concept in multi-purpose recreation facilities resulting in a magnificent community service complex that can meet the needs of a variety of community groups.

 The First Arena is also home to the Elmira Jackals, a professional hockey team in the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league.  The Jackals will be competing in their eighth season of operation, beginning in October 2007.  In the previous seven seasons, the Jackals have provided residents of the Twin Tiers top-notch family affordable entertainment.
