    12:00 - 7:00 pm  - Outdoor festivities will line Main Street from the intersection of Water Street and Main Street to the intersection of Church Street and Main Street. Street hockey games for all age groups will run all day long on Main Street. Teams of three can enter to participate in segmented age levels ranging from 6 & under to an adult division. The streets will be blocked off from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday with vendors set up along Main Street and Wisner Park.

The Twin Tier Ties Expo is a celebration of the community of the Northern and Southern Twin Tiers of NY and PA.  Vendors will have the opportunity to showcase their business and services to local residents and undergraduate and graduate students of Elmira College. Throughout the day, there will be panel-style discussions from area professionals and experts on areas such as entrepreneurship and industry.  

The Twin Tier Ties Expo is an Elmira College student-created event that is organized by students belonging to an organization called Enactus USA (see for more information).  Enactus USA is a worldwide community of students and business leaders looking for a way to enhance a sense of community on their campus or in their local area.  They develop projects to help others and strengthen the sense of community, much like the opportunity of the Twin Tier Ties Community Expo.  We at Elmira College Enactus are looking forward to welcoming you at the Expo.


General admission ticket prices are $5.00 per person.

First Arena announced today that it will host the third annual Twin Tiers Tap In on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Wegmans returns as the title sponsor for the beer festival while TLC Limo is back as the presenting sponsor and WENY-TV News returns as our media partner.

"We had an overwhelmingly positive response, both from the attendees and the vendors, to our second annual Tap In last year. We couldn't be happier to bring it back and welcome even more beer lovers to enjoy everything these breweries have to offer," said First Arena general manager Matt Hufnagel.

Wegmans Twin Tiers Tap In presented by TLC Limo will get underway on the floor of the main rink at First Arena at 4:00 p.m. The first hour from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. will be for VIP tasters only. Select vendors will provide choice beers which will only be available during the first hour. Admission to Wegmans Twin Tiers Tap In presented by TLC Limo is $30 in advance and $35 the day of for general admission from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and $40 in advance and $45 the day of for the VIP ticket. The admission ticket comes with 25 3oz. tastings and a commemorative Twin Tiers Tap In glass provided by Anchor Glass. Live entertainment will also be provided.

The Elmira Jackals are pleased to announce that they will host Elmira's first ever Street HockeyFest on Sunday, August 24starting at 12:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. The one-day tournament will take place on blocked-off portions of Main Street and Gray Street outside of First Arena. Check-in begins at 12:00 p.m. and the games start promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Registration is now open up until Saturday, August 23, or when registration is full. Individuals can sign up online at or by clicking the link below. Participants can sign up as a team online and elect a team captain or individuals can sign up and be placed on a random roster. 

The tournament is open to boys and girls 17 and under at a cost of $35 per person. Each team will consist of four players and one goaltender. Every player will also receive an Elmira Street HockeyFest hat. Prizes will be awarded to the first and second place teams of each division. The award presentation will be held at 4:30 p.m. 

Season ticket holders and sponsors are invited to come enjoy a complementary lunch with members of the Jackals organization and Elmira Jackals Youth Hockey supporters. Food and drinks are available for purchase throughout the event at Splitrock Brew Pub. Inflatables will be available for kids in the side parking lot next to First Arena on the Main Street side.

The band, Bigfoot, will be performing live from 4:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m.

Participants are responsible for bringing their own equipment, including sneakers, hockey sticks and gloves. Goaltender equipment is mandatory. Additional protective gear is optional, but recommended.

Teams will be divided into divisions determined age/birth year. Mini-Mites and Mites are required to wear a helmet and must also be under adult supervision at all times. Divisions are as follows:

  • Mini-Mites 6 & under: (2008 and later)
  • Mites 8 & under: (2006)
  • Squirts 10 & under: (2004, 2005)
  • Pee Wee 12 & under: (2002, 2003)
  • Bantam 14 & under: (2000, 2001)
  • Midget 17 & under: (1997, 1998)

(Please note: if minimum number of teams per division is not met, certain divisional play may be canceled)
