Figure Skating at the First Arena
Group lessons are offered thru our skating school for those beginning in figure skating - please see learn to skate section for details.
Southern Tier Sizzle Synchronized Team - see Synchro section for more details. Sponsored by the Skating Club of the Southern Tier and The First Arena.
Freestyle Sessions are sponsored by the First Arena and are open to any ISI or USFS member. Skaters may pay a "walk-on" fee or purchase discounted ice time packages. Although they are listed as "Freestyle" on the calendar, we welcome those skaters to participate in Ice Dancing and Moves in the Field. Guest coaches are welcome, subject to First Arena policies. Wednesdays 7:30-9:00pm (Year-round) Summer Session 2008: July 23rd - August 27th (6 wks.) 7/23, 7/30, 8/6, 8/13, 8/20, 8/27.
Walk on Cost: $20 per session
or purchase discount package
Sundays 7:45-8:30pm
** Sundays will return in the Fall (Tuesdays for Spring)
Price ice discounted when purchasing a package.
The more ice you purchase, the lower the per hour cost..
Power Skating & Freestyle Clinic (includes instruction)
Wednesdays 7:00-7:30pm
Summer Session: July 23rd - August 27th (6 weeks)
Cost: $15 walk-on fee per day or purchase discount package
*The First Arena reserves the right to cancel sessions, due to lack of pre-registration enrollment. Space is limited. There will be no refunds or mak ups. Sessions will be capped if necessary, and walk-ons limited. Package skaters will receive priority.
Summer - We may add additional clinics for both figure skating and hockey power skating, depending on interest level. Please check back or call Robyn Bentley, Skating Director at 607-271-2212, for more information.
